2. Uses

Metsulfuron-methyl 200 g/kg is a post-emergence herbicide with selective and systemic activity, used to control broadleaf weeds and sedges in rice fields.

Broadleaf weeds group:

  • Barnyardgrass

  • Centella

  • Vietnamese coriander

  • Polygonum

  • Wild amaranth

  • Duckweed

  • Soapwort

  • Morning glory

3. Mode of action of Metsulfuron-Methyl 200g/kg

Metsulfuron-methyl belongs to the Sulfonylurea group and controls weeds by inhibiting the ALS enzyme (Acetolactate Synthase).

Detailed mechanism:

  • Absorbed through leaves and roots

  • Penetrates the meristem tissue of weeds

  • Blocks ALS – an essential enzyme for the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine)

  • Stops cell division

  • Weeds weaken – leaves yellow – and die within 7–14 days

This mode of action allows the herbicide to kill both roots and stems, reducing weed regrowth.

4. Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children, and away from food and water sources.

Packaging must be disposed of according to regulations.
